This month we meet DPS Group director Alan Rowe, who goes under the spotlight in our latest Q&A.
This month we meet director Alan Rowe, who tells us about his ten year journey with DPS Group.
What is your role?
My role as a director at DPS Group involves a lot of the day to day running of the business, from planning ahead to securing future works, compliance issues, meeting new clients and ensuring existing clients needs are met in full. I am also active in overseeing current projects with a keen emphasise on Health, Safety and Quality aspects.
How did it all start for you at DPS Group?
I started with DPS Group ten years ago as an Electrical Supervisor and gradually worked my way up to a Senior Project Manager role whilst gaining additional managerial qualifications. I was invited to join the board of directors five years ago.
What has been your biggest career achievement to date?
Being offered a position as a director would be an obvious highlight but my involvement in securing and successfully completing the company’s largest project to date is something I take tremendous pride in. It was also the most challenging but we had an excellent team involved.
What do you do in your spare time?
I have two small children, a girl (8) and a boy (5), so I don’t get much “spare” time! We go swimming twice a week and enjoy going for walks. I used to compete in marathons but have not done one for a couple of years. I am also a keen snowboarder.
What makes you smile?
My kids for sure...they can always brighten up my day! Best mention my partner too! I enjoy my work and my life so am generally happy though some might argue with that one - haha!
What message would you give to anyone thinking about working with DPS Group?
It is a great environment to work in with fantastic people. Everyone is encouraged and supported to meet their full potential. If you like a challenge, there is a new one every day!
