Position Overview
This position is responsible for taking instructions from site and project teams to carry out installations on site. The Chargehand will manage a small crew to install projects on-site and assist with tasks such as ordering materials and accepting permits.
They shall use a working knowledge of industrial electrical systems to carry out new installations and conduct maintenance/fault-finding on existing systems.
The candidate must have the ability to read Electrical drawings and red line where required. Install new electrical systems, including containment, glanding, terminating and testing to DPS/Customer standards, and maintaining those systems while upholding safety guidelines and complying with current codes and regulations.

Position Requirements
Would you like to work for a successful engineering company that specialises in the design, manufacture, installation and support of Electrical, Instrument and Automation Process control systems, providing bespoke solutions and turnkey projects to a range of sectors?
Working within this busy team, you will be responsible for delivering a varied portfolio of projects from initial design, commissioning, and ongoing customer support.
Working as an Electrical Chargehand you will:

Have gained practical electrical skills with adequate technical knowledge so as to work on your own proficiently and carry out electrical installation and testing work without immediate supervision.

Be able to carry out electrical inspections on components on electrical installation
-
Reports Directly to the Project Engineer or Site Supervisor in control of the site/project.

Manage a small team of electrical personnel effectively
-
Working within and maintaining Processes and Procedures, includes HSEQ on-site activities such as HSEQ Inspections/Audits, TBT's, Van checklist and other site safety requirements.

Ensure the installation provided is in accordance with the client specifications, current legislation and agreed scope of works.

Maintain a good understanding of the project requirements

As a technical figure on a client site/project, you will be interacting with the client, DPS and contract personnel across all areas of the project. You will assist with and understand the project/site requirements and bring them together with the aim of successful project delivery
To be successful for the Electrical Chargehand role, we're looking for:
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
Electrical Engineering HNC/HND qualified or Recognised Apprenticeship

10 Years on-site Electrical, Control or Instrumentation experience

ECS H&S
-
Understanding of permit systems
-
Good understanding of Safe System of Work
-
Ability to read electrical drawings, panel drawings and wiring diagrams

Industrial EIC Knowledge
-
Good literacy and IT skills
Extensive knowledge and understanding of:

Electrical Systems

Electrical Design and Installations

Control Panel Design and build

CompEx EX01-04

CompEx EX05-06

18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
